Freight Delivery Guidelines
Freight shipping requires a bit more planning than standard parcel delivery. Providing accurate information upfront helps ensure smooth delivery, prevents delays, and allows us to give you the most accurate freight quote.
Below is a simple checklist of what we need to arrange your shipment.
1. Delivery Location
Please confirm the details of your delivery site:
- Do you have an elevated loading dock?
- If not, is a forklift or other unloading equipment available?
- Is the address residential or commercial?
- If no dock or equipment is available, will someone be present to unload the freight by hand?
- Are there any access restrictions (gated entry, narrow roads, limited truck access, etc.)?
2. Delivery Hours
Carriers must deliver during defined business hours. Please confirm:
- Receiving hours
- Any restricted delivery windows
-
Whether an appointment is required
(Note: appointment deliveries may include additional carrier fees.)
3. Contact Information
Please provide two reliable on-site contacts available for scheduling delivery:
- Name and phone number of primary contact
- Name and phone number of secondary contact
4. Special Delivery Services
Let us know if your shipment requires any of the following:
- Liftgate service
- Residential delivery
- Inside delivery
- Limited access delivery locations
- Appointment scheduling
(Some of these services may include additional carrier charges.)
After Your Order Is Placed
Once your order is confirmed, we will send a freight agreement for review and approval. This outlines key delivery and inspection procedures, including:
- Inspecting the shipment upon arrival
- Noting any damage on the Bill of Lading before signing
- Informing receiving personnel of inspection requirements
Following these steps is important, as carriers typically require proper documentation at delivery for any freight damage claims to be approved.

We’ve handled freight shipments for years, and this process has helped ensure reliable deliveries and fast resolution in the rare cases where issues occur.
