American Mace
The Director's Showcase (DSI) American Drum Major Mace is a top selling for drum majors. Crafted with a fiberglass shaft and accented with a chrome-plated crown and ferrule, this mace offers excellent balance for spinning. 1" tapering down to a 5/8" shaft 58" long Shortening is no longer available from this manufacturer Shaft Color: White, Black, Royal Blue, Red, or Woodlook Chain Color: Silver OR 2 colored cords NOTE: Cords or Chain will arrive loose/unwrapped unless customer chooses Wrapping Service Dome Color: Silver Comes with performance eagle tip AND practice dome tip UPS charges an additional oversize box fee for this item Ships in 2-3 business days Disclaimer Due to the nature of this product's use, this item does not carry a warranty from the manufacturer or Smith Walbridge. Spinning, dropping, stabbing into the ground, and other similar activities can cause damage or breakage. Customers who use the mace in that manner do so at their own risk. Any defects must be reported upon delivery of item. DSI does not currently offer any repair service for this product. Return Policy: Maces ordered with wrapping service are subject to a restocking fee and must have no signs of use. Shipping: Fed ex and UPS have a high surcharge for mace boxes because they are classified as oversized. We provide a "flat rate" option as cost saving alternative, which will go via USPS priority mail. Maces going to residential addresses may require a signature upon delivery. Product Tips (please read before use): Chain: Chains are least likely to break when kept slightly loose. Maces arrive from the factory with very tight chains and they will break if not stretched. This can be accomplished through a few days of gentle use or by gently pulling them. The chain will continue to stretch indefinitely throughout the life of a mace. To tighten, use guard or electrical tape by the bolts on the top and bottom of the mace. Cords: Cords will need to be re-wrapped every few months. They are a cloth material that absorbs sunscreen, sweat, and oil from hands. They need to be replaced periodically. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for cord wrapping instructional video. Crown/Eagle: Keep it snug, but not overly tight. If it is too tight or loose it can strip the threads when the mace is dropped. Dome: Domes very rarely dent when dropped on grass or astroturf. Hard surfaces can damage the dome and mace with a single drop. It is best to spin conservatively during parades (or not at all). Shaft: The shaft of the mace is made of fiberglass and arrives from the factory stiff. It becomes more pliable with use.
